Emily Garber has been practicing as a nurse practitioner since 2010. She has worked in a variety of settings including internal medicine, behavioral health, urgent care, hospitalist medicine, wound and ostomy care, and palliative care. She is dual certified as an adult nurse practitioner and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. She received her B.A. from Brown University, her M.S.N. (Master of Science in Nursing) from Yale University, and a post-master certificate in psychiatric-mental health nursing from the University of Saint Joseph. She is affiliated with Saint Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and currently serves as an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University in the Department of Nursing.
Emily established this practice to provide structured, evidence-based outpatient psychiatric care focused on careful diagnostic assessment, thoughtful medication management, and longitudinal clinical monitoring. She looks forward to working with you to achieve your health goals.

The practice focuses on careful diagnostic assessment, thoughtful medication management, and longitudinal monitoring to ensure treatment decisions remain appropriate as symptoms evolve over time. Psychiatric symptoms are often influenced by biological, psychological, and environmental factors, and accurate diagnosis and effective treatment require ongoing clinical observation rather than reliance on single-visit impressions. Emily works collaboratively with patients to develop individualized treatment plans that prioritize safety, stability, and functional improvement. Treatment decisions, including whether to prescribe, continue, modify, or discontinue medications, are based on clinical judgment, safety considerations, and established standards of care.

The practice provides structured outpatient psychiatric care and may not be the best fit for situations requiring urgent evaluation, immediate medication changes, or intensive services. Diagnostic impressions and treatment recommendations may evolve over time as additional clinical information becomes available and as response to treatment is observed longitudinally. The goal of care is to provide consistent, responsible psychiatric treatment within a stable outpatient framework, while coordinating with therapists, medical providers, and other supports when appropriate.
